Covid Vaccines
- The covid vaccine is very effective at preventing hospital admission from covid disease. It is, therefore, recommended that all children receive a primary series and booster.
- Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are effective and safe, but the Moderna vaccine is available in single dose vials for all ages.
- The Pediatric Group has, therefore, acquired the Moderna vaccine and will administer it to our patients who desire it, from 6 months through 11 years. Children 12 and older may continue to receive vaccination from their local pharmacy at their convenience.
- Because it comes in single dose vials, the vaccine can be administered at ANY visit, including well visits, acute office visits for other reasons, and vaccine visits.
